Register or renew as a waste carrier, broker or dealer
You must register if your business does any of the following:
- Transports waste (a carrier)
- Buys, sells or disposes of waste (a dealer)
- Arranges for someone else to buy, sell or dispose of waste (a broker)
Upper Tier Waste Carrier Licence
You must apply for this licence if you are transporting other peoples waste or your own building construction and demolition waste. This licence allows you to transport all types of waste. Cost: £335.00 (+VAT) for 3 years.
Lower Tier Waste Carrier Licence
Apply for this if you transport waste you produce as a business (except construction, building and demolition waste). Cost: £65.00 (+VAT), valid indefinitely.
Renewal of Upper Tier Licence: £275.00 (+VAT) for 3 years.
⚠️ You can be fined up to £5,000 if you do not register.
